Hands off Glasgow

No taxes for those from surrounding areas

A welcome to Glasgow street sign with the council logo and a message to please drive carefully

Renfrewshire Liberal Democrats are opposing any plans for the SNP/Green administration on Glasgow City Council to look at charging surrounding areas like Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire as a way to make up for their own budget failures.

Each local authority is stretched with their budgets and Glasgow can't just charge its neighbours or wish to absorb them into their region because of issues of the current SNP administration and the previous Labour ones that have left the city's finances in such a mess.

We call that the SNP and Green councillors instead focus on pointing their attention to their colleagues in Holyrood for their lack of local government support which has left all councils so stretched.

Hands off Glasgow

We call on the SNP/Green administration in Glasgow to keep their hands off taxing neighbouring areas as a way of sorting their own finances.
